No. Piercing guns are unsafe and unhygienic. All piercings are performed using single use sterile needles.
No piercing is pain free, but the pain is minimal and temporary. Some areas are more painful than others and each persons pain threshold is slightly different. I always try to keep the discomfort to a minimum.
Most piercings heal much better and quicker with a straight bar. Rings can cause irritation and scaring so I do highly recommend waiting and changing to a ring once healed.
To give your piercing the best start it is recommended to: Get plenty of sleep the night before. Keep well hydrated. Eat a nutritious meal at least 3 hours before your appointment. If you have any health concerns that might affect the piercing, either during the procedure or whilst healing it is advisable to check with your doctor first.
I accept debit/credit cards, contactless payments and cash for piercing services and jewellery.
I’m sorry to hear that you’re experiencing some issues with your new piercing.
I recommend booking a piercing check-up through my website at your earliest convenience. This will allow me to assess the area in person and provide tailored advice for your healing process.
In the meantime, you can try the following care techniques to help manage swelling or irritation:
Cold Compress (to reduce swelling)
• Always wash your hands thoroughly before touching the area.
• Wrap a clean ice pack or a few ice cubes in sterile gauze or clean kitchen roll — never apply ice directly to the skin.
• Gently hold the compress against the area for 5–10 minutes at a time.
• You can repeat this several times a day as needed, ensuring the jewellery is not pressed or moved excessively.
• Afterward, gently dry the area using sterile non-woven gauze or clean kitchen roll. You may also use the cool setting on a hairdryer to help dry the area.
Warm Compress (to soothe and encourage drainage)
• Wash your hands thoroughly.
• Soak sterile non-woven gauze or clean kitchen roll in warm (not hot) saline solution, or in freshly boiled water that has cooled to a comfortable temperature.
• Hold the compress gently against the piercing for 5–10 minutes.
• This can be done once or twice daily, keeping the compress warm throughout use (never hot enough to burn).
• Dry the area carefully afterward with sterile non-woven gauze or clean kitchen roll, or use a hairdryer on its cool setting.
Chamomile Compress (for irritation or piercing bumps)
• Use plain chamomile tea (without added flavours).
• Steep one tea bag in freshly boiled water for 3–5 minutes.
• Allow it to cool until comfortably warm.
• Apply the tea bag directly to the area, or soak sterile gauze in the tea and hold it against the piercing for 5–10 minutes.
• This can be done once daily to calm irritation.
• Dry the area afterward with sterile non-woven gauze or clean kitchen roll, or use a hairdryer on its cool setting.
Please avoid twisting or turning the jewellery, and continue your regular saline cleaning routine unless advised otherwise.
If you notice significant swelling, spreading redness, excessive warmth, or unusual discharge, contact a doctor or qualified medical professional immediately. Please also schedule a check-up appointment with me so I can continue to support you through your healing process.
